Missions Emphasis WeekendOn November 1 and 2, we are excited to welcome Todd and Terri Althaus back to Living Vine. Before serving overseas as C&MA International Workers, Todd was our youth pastor many years ago. As they step into retirement, they want to celebrate with us all that the Lord has done through their ministry, which has been part of God’s larger work of bringing all of Jesus for all the world. Their visit will be a chance to hear stories from their mission work, see the impact of faithful service, and celebrate how God is at work around the globe. On Saturday, November 1 at 5pm there will be an international potluck dinner where Todd and Terri will be sharing highlights of their career as International Workers in both Gabon and France. Please sign up using this link, and bring a dish to share with everyone. Sunday, Todd will be sharing during our worship service, while Terri will be with in with the kids in kids’ church. |

Pastor Appreciation MonthDuring the month of November we will be celebrating our Pastors: Pastor Chris Laws, Pastor Jason Cork and Pastor Jim Souza Cards will be available in the lobby to share your appreciation throughout the month. Elders will officially recognize the pastors on November 23rd. |

Warm Hearts, Warm Coats: Living Vine’s Coat Drive for Haven of RestWinter is approaching, and the need for warm coats in our community is urgent. Last year, Haven of Rest distributed over 2,600 coats to children and adults. At the time of this writing, they have only seven coats left to give out. Here at Living Vine we practice sacrificial generosity to bless others in need, and we are inviting our church family to step in. Starting November 9, we will begin collecting coats with a goal of 200 from our church. We will also have flyers available so you can take them to neighbors who might like to participate. You can gather coats from them and bring them to church. We welcome gently used clean coats from your closet as well as new or thrift store finds. Each coat shared will bring warmth, comfort, and hope to someone facing the cold this winter. Together, through sacrificial generosity, we can make a real difference in our community. |

Advent TeamWhat do you do when you know guests are coming to your home? You probably spend some significant time preparing how you will make them feel welcome and comfortable. Christmas is a time when many who don't normally attend church choose to do so. We want to make sure we're prepared to offer them a warm welcome and make them feel like they belong. To prepare, we're having an Advent Planning and Pizza Party after church on Sunday, Nov. 16. If you've been looking for a place to serve, why not try volunteering in this area during the advent season? We need "all hands on deck!" Come find out what it's all about and help with the planning for Advent! Register below so we're sure we get enough pizza. |

Giving Thanks for God’s Provision through Living VineWhat a joy to share that Living Vine recently sent funds to our Remember Nhu girls’ homes in Kenya! These gifts provided college tuition for 13 young women and deworming medicine, vitamins, and new shoes for 67 children. Executive Vice President John Preis wrote, “Thanks for this gift for the children.” Kenyan Field Director Joseph Chenge shared, “Thanks so much for your love and support to our precious children and lovely staff!” And from Don Chambers: “Thank you, Living Vine! You are a blessing to the children and us.” Your generosity continues to make a lasting difference. Thank you for being part of God’s work of love and hope in Kenya. |

Akron Pregnancy Services (APS) Giving Tree/Haven of Rest Giving TreeGifts can be wrapped or unwrapped, your choice! Please reattach the tag on the gift so that we will know exactly what is inside! It would be wonderful if each "donor" would pray for the person receiving the gift that they would come to know Jesus as both their Savior and Lord, or to know Him in a deeper way.
