Remember Nhu Update
Update on the Remember Nhu Homes in Kenya We want to share a quick update on the Remember Nhu homes in Kenya—homes that many of you prayed for, gave toward, and helped make a reality. Although we are still waiting for a final ruling in court, we are encouraged by God’s faithfulness and care in the midst of delay. The homes are currently under watch by local security personnel and are being regularly patrolled by local police, keeping them safe from vandalism even though we cannot yet move in. The court has restricted access for now, to avoid any appearance of assuming occupancy. The social environment around the homes has settled down, but tensions can still rise when locals suspect we may be preparing to occupy the houses. Please keep praying for peace and favor. The next Kenyan court date is set for July 10, 2025. While it will mostly be a procedural step, we are hopeful that it will lead to a higher court order of protection—a move that could clear the way for the children and staff to finally begin using the homes. The judge has indicated a desire to bring the matter to a close by early 2026. Please continue to pray! Ask the Lord for favor in the courts, peace in the community, and protection for the homes and everyone involved. Ask that these homes will be used to glorify God, even while they remain vacant. Our God is faithful, good, and sovereign over every detail—and we trust Him for the outcome. Thank you for being part of this story through your prayers and support!
Help Protect and Provide for "The Least of These" We have a wonderful opportunity as a church family to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable girls living in Remember Nhu homes. These homes are places of safety and restoration for girls who are at risk of being trafficked—places where they can grow, learn, and thrive in a loving environment. Right now, there are 13 sponsorship openings available:
Each sponsorship helps meet the physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of these precious girls. It’s a chance to respond to Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:40: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” To learn more or to sign up, please contact Kim Williams at KimWilliams27@neo.rr.com. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus—together. |

AlphaSeptember 10 Let's face it, at some point we've all struggled with how to share our faith with someone we care about. Alpha makes that process as easy as inviting someone to a meal and a conversation. You don't have to have all the answers. In fact, it's ok if you have more questions than answers! Why not invite someone to explore those questions with you by attending Alpha!

Note from the Treasurer2nd Quarter A Word from the Treasurer The first half of 2025 is now behind us, and we look ahead with anticipation to what the Lord will do through His people in the coming months. I want to thank you for your continued faithfulness in giving to the ministries of Living Vine Community Church. Your generous love gifts support the ongoing work of the Gospel through the Christian and Missionary Alliance. As I review our financial reports, I see that our tithes and offerings are currently running about 10% below our budgeted expectations. In addition, some of our utility costs have exceeded projections, mainly due to a change in suppliers. While we also experienced increased maintenance expenses in certain areas, I’m encouraged to report that our total facilities expenses are only about 5% above the budget. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email at bblack4393@sbcglobal.net or by phone at (330) 212-2282. Thank you again for your support and partnership in ministry. Bruce Black "Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."
