Christmas Offering

The Alliance Christmas Offering is one of the Alliance family’s key moments to expand gospel presence among the world’s remaining unreached peoples. It’s about all of us joining in to complete the Great Commission—by giving, praying, and participating in what God has commanded us to do.

The gospel is, at its heart, good news of great joy. Those of us who are in Christ have already received the gift of hearing the good news; we are the fruit of a harvest already gathered in. But this good news of great joy is for all people—and we must share it with those who have yet to hear.

Christmas War/Christmas Peace

Christmas War/Christmas Peace

Advent Sermon Series

There is a cosmic war behind Christmas, but that also comes with Jesus wanting us to have His peace in this life.  Oftentimes what sidetracks us from that peace is not always the cosmic war, but small interpersonal wars.  The holidays bring many of these to the surface.  So how can you find peace in those wars? Come and discover how to find peace in the midst of the battle.

Advent Reading Plan

Advent Reading Plan

One of the most effective ways to make Christmas more meaningful is to dig deeper into the story behind the first Christmas.  Every Christmas season, our church participates in a church-wide Bible Reading plan that revolves around Advent.

Incredible moments unfold when we engage in shared Scripture reading and conversation. Jump in together for a daily guided reading experience through the YouVersion Bible App. You can friend Living Vine in YouVersion in order to get the invite with the entire group.  You can see the plan below

July 4-9, 2025

July 4-9, 2025

The Life Conference is a gathering through our denomination, The Christian & Missionary Alliance, for High School Students that takes place every three years. Life 2025 is in Indianapolis, IN on July 4-9, 2025. It is for students entering 9th-12th grade next summer & class of '25 grads. The Life Conference is an opportunity for students to get away, hear from God,  experience community and personal growth with emphasis on main sessions, breakout seminars, experiences related to prayer, missions, and justice, and a hands-on service project.

Church Family:

We need your prayers in the months leading up to and during the conference!

You can help offset a portion of the cost to help get every student and youth leader to Life by sponsoring a registration cost for one (or more!) participant. The registration cost covers conference fees and 8 meals and is $500 per person. Please prayerfully consider making a one time or monthly donation to help us get our group to Indy!

Urgent need for Taylor Dye

Taylor Dye recently found out that one of her significant donors is no longer able to partner in the ministries in Guinea. She has a need for an additional $1000 per month to be raised for her support.  Praise God, that $625 has already been raised since she found out, leaving  her with $375 more needed  by December 31st in order for her to continue working in Guinea. Would you pray with her  as she navigates meeting this need? If you feel led to give, you can do so with this link https://cmalliance.org/give/gift?desc=Taylor+Dye&acct=1-47700-49-47-21348

North Carolina Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Team Trip
Teams are headed down to North Carolina to assist in cleanup efforts of Asheville, NC from the devastation that hurricane Helene inflicted on them.  They are serving with Samaritan’s Purse and will be there from Nov. 25-Nov. 30. Bill Crowe, Dennis Krawchuk will be there all week. Bruce Black, Dale and Sue Williams will be joining them Nov. 25-26, and Larry Parker, Jeremy, Sarah, Katie and Noah Parker, and Nema McAmis will be joining them Nov. 28-30.  Please pray for traveling mercies, protection while they work, and the ability to adapt emotionally to the devastation they will be seeing so that they can love the people they are serving well.

Update on Remember Nhu Kenya Homes Court Case
On November 6, the Remember Nhu lawyer file a petition to restrain the land seller from accessing the land.  The ruling date for that is January 23, 2025.  Assuming that the ruling is in Remember Nhu’s favor, the lawyers will then file a petition to allow Remember Nhu access to the land including moving the children there, and a ruling will need to be made on that.  Finally, the last step will be to have the court case with witnesses and arguments from both sides presented to the court/judge.  This step will be the one that settles the case.

It is important to keep in mind that part of the reason this is taking so long, and why it seems like Remember Nhu has done some of the steps already, is because this is the second court for the case.  The lower court was determined by the Remember Nhu lawyers to be in collusion with the land seller, and they appealed to a higher court.  At that point, the whole process started again in a higher court.   Joseph, the Remember Nhu Kenyan director has also told me that the length of time this is taking is quite typical for a Kenyan court case.

Even though many of us feel frustration at the length of time it is taking, we can rest assured that none of this, including the amount of time it is taking, has caught God off guard.  He is fully aware and in control of what is going on.  Maybe, just maybe, God is giving the land seller time to repent and drop the case.  Whatever God’s reasons, He doesn’t want us to be discouraged, but instead to continue praying for justice.
